Chaundra’s story is shared as part of the Patient Perspectives - Clinical Trials Experiences Storytelling Program
This program aims to give those diagnosed with cancer a voice to share their experiences participating in clinical trials and help others understand the importance of participating in clinical trials.
"Saying Yes" is Chaundra's story. Diagnosed in 2016 with Stage lV Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma, she has not stopped living. She has maintained a full-time job and currently serves as the Champaign Regional Health Officer for the Illinois Department of Public Health. Chaundra was elected to the Urbana City Council in 2021, serves on the Planned Parenthood Illinois Action Board of Directors, and is the president of the Urbana-Champaign chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Chandra's story is one of living, and saying YES to life through her cancer diagnosis, treatments, and clinical trials.
